This was the final issue of the magazine, which ran from 1962 to 1967, and was edited by Ian Hamilton Finlay.

"[Poor. Old. Tired. Horse.'s] main aims were (i) to introduce a variety of foreign poets in translation to Scottish readers, (ii) to present a selection of good poetry, mainly lyrical, wherever it came from (Scotland, England, America), and (iii) to explore aspects of the visual presentation of poetry through a series of illustrated numbers using drawings, woodcuts, calligraphy and typographic design."
